Buying a Computer at Micro Center in Orange County: What to Expect
June 1, 2026
Micro Center in Tustin is the closest real computer superstore to SoCal — genuinely helpful in person, with warranties, repair options, and a lot of add-ons. Here's what to expect and what's worth saying yes to.
If you want to actually see and touch computers and parts before buying — and talk to someone who knows them — Micro Center is the destination in our area. The Orange County store is in Tustin (The District at Tustin Legacy), and since there's no Micro Center in LA proper, it's the closest one for most of the region and well worth the trip.
The in-person sales support is the real draw
The thing that sets Micro Center apart is the floor staff. They're genuinely knowledgeable and will help you pick the right machine or parts for what you actually do — a real advantage over buying blind from an online listing and hoping. In an age when almost everything is bought online sight-unseen, they're one of the few places still doing hands-on, in-person computer sales, and they clearly appreciate customers who come in to buy.
Warranties, repair, and the upsells
Beyond the sale, they offer a range of protection plans and have a service/repair department, plus build services if you're putting a PC together. Expect a fair number of add-on offers at checkout, too: discounted Microsoft Office bundles, antivirus deals, accessories, and extended warranties.
Our independent take (we don't sell any of it): some of those bundles are genuinely good value if you'll use them — a discounted Office license you need anyway is a fine buy. Others you can skip — Windows' built-in Defender is enough antivirus for most people, so don't feel pressured into a paid subscription you don't need. Take the discounts that match what you actually use; pass on the rest.
How we fit in
We don't sell hardware, so this is just friendly advice: tell us what you're trying to do and we'll give you a shopping list to bring to Micro Center — what to get, what to skip, and which add-ons are worth it. Then once you're home, we'll set it all up, migrate your files, and get it running the way you want.
